Care Farming Introduction Agency
Farming can now be used nationwide as a pathway to improved wellbeing. Remarkable benefits are experienced, through careful choice of farms, for all sectors.
Typically, a small group of around four persons from one sector will visit a farm weekly - the most common sectors are difficulties at school, a mental health issue, a learning disability, substance misuse in recovery or a record of offending.
FarmBuddies joined the early innovators of this revived social solution and farm diversification in 2008. Our role in care farming in the South East of England is as a 'match maker', working closely with traditional family farmers and linking them to service user managers, who accompany the visiting groups.
These regular farm visits will be up there with the best of anyone's life experiences.
